STAGE 1

First off your tank would be totally degreased, removing all dirt grease and any other deposits that maybe left over from the stripping treatment, at this stage all repairwork would be carried out, e.g. all welding grinding and fillerwork

STAGE 2

now your tank would be complety sealed with a chromate free (lead free) acid wash to give excellent adhesion and superb corrosion resistace, this would be baked for around 20 mins at 60 degrees, to which we then apply a high build primer, this is then sanded flat ensuring that all imperfections are gone and is ready for the surfacer, surfacer is extremely smooth and not a high build primer but once flatted and prepared it gives superior adhesion and a fantastic surface for the colour to be applied,

STAGE 3

now your tank is ready for some colour, we apply one more sealer process to eliminate colour bleed into the primer, this is an essential stage in any paintjob as it also created fantastic adhesion for the colour and topcoat, which would be applied with a minimum of three coats. If there were no artwork to be applied then the clear coat would go though the polishing stage, of which i believe over my career I have found my secret process for getting wet and deep glass like panels, and of which I would like to keep secret, sorry!

STAGE 4

At this stage if there is any artwork to be applied then now we do it the clearcoat would now be sanded using 1000-1200grit paper ensuring a complety smooth surface for the artwork or graphics to be applied to, using our selection of IWATA airbrushes your murals and graphics will be applied, the clearcoat process is then re-applied, removing all edges and layers we may have to repeat this process again to ensure of a completly smooth surface, if you insist that you want decals applying then we would not completely remove these edges as this would require more layers than we are comfortable with applying

so there you have it, your tank is ready for you to collect, thats just one of our paint processes,
